BY PASTOR DOUG BATCHELOR
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.
-Psalm 50:15 (NKJV)
We are certainly living in extraordinary times of turmoil and radical change.
First, let’s remember to keep all of the people who are literally in the line of fire in our prayers.
Three of the four largest fires in California history are all burning at the same time right now. As of today, 2.3 million acres have already burned this year statewide — an area more than 20 times larger than the city of San Jose, and the most in any year since modern records began, with two months still remaining in fire season.
Pray for those who are fighting the fires. 59 firefighters have died in 2020 across North America.
Pray for the social unrest plaguing many of our cities.
Many of our families are strained financially by the Covid 19 restrictions and some are also without power now because of the PG&E wind outages.
On a positive note, the Covid-19 status in Placer County has been upgraded so, with some restrictions, we should be able to meet in our new church building soon. We are hoping to receive the necessary inspection approvals in the next 2 weeks. Please be praying about this.
Also, the Northern California Conference executive committee formally approved our request to modify our name to “Granite Bay Hilltop”.
There is added benefit when God’s people join together in prayer.
Please stay tuned for updates as there are many things in transition all at once.
Jesus is coming!
